First Ommelift for Clerkin

Northern Irish access rental company Clerkin Elevation has taken delivery of a 42 metre Ommelift 4200 RBDJ crawler lift.

The track mounted hybrid 4200 RBDJ provides an outreach of up to 15.2 metres with a 230kg maximum platform capacity. Clerkin purchased the Ommelift 4200, painted in its silver corporate livery, from Access Platform Sales. The machine’s first job was on a telecommunications maintenance contract. It has also completed inspection and maintenance work at Semple Stadium in Thurles in County Tipperary, Ireland.

Joe Clerkin of Clerkin Elevation said: “We looked at several equivalent models and felt that the Ommelift had the best combination of quality, easy operation and low ground pressure. At less than seven tonnes it was far lighter than some of the other machines in this bracket. Feedback so far is that it is a very solid, reliable machine that is easy to operate. We are also impressed with how it runs so well off the battery.”

Weighing just 6,805kg and offering the ability to set up on inclines of up to 27%, the Ommelift 4200 RBDJ telescopic boom can work comfortably outdoors in many areas unsuitable for conventional big booms. Compact dimensions also enable access into confined spaces, with a stowed height of less than 2.00m and length of 8.90m – plus the basket is easily detachable, delivering an even more compact travel length of 8.30m. The width of 1.75m, which provides stable travelling on slopes, can be hydraulically retracted to only 1.35m for narrow paths, corridors and doorways.
